19. Many schools have eliminated school libraries/librarians

Students lack experience working with librarians and libraries. Teachers have more responsibility for information literacy, but because of other demands for time and attention, it is not taught and students flounder in the academic world and in their subsequent careers. Public libraries are forced to pick up the slack both by doing more outreach into schools and by providing the education to the general public.
